Upcoming tests and assignments for both grades 7 & 8:
October 20: Monologue presentations
October 23: Math Test
October 30: Science Test
Week of Oct 13-16
- We will be hosting the Girls Soccer Tournament on October 13 and the Boys Soccer Tournament on October 14.
- Please encourage your children to read and discuss their novels. We have a reward system in class for every 5 novels completed. Novels must be at the grade 7/8 level or above. Please check that the book is appropriate in terms of themes and content.
Friday October 9: Both Grade 7 and 8 have a Math quiz for Unit 1.
We are reviewing previous concepts and performing diagnostics tests for the first two weeks of school. The preliminary tests and assignments indicate areas of strength and weaker areas that teachers can focus on.
Tests should not be a time of anxiety and great stress. Feeling a normal amount of pressure is okay. Grades 7 and 8 are more intense than elementary school and the tests will be more difficult. Please take some time to reinforce ideas of time management and handling stress.
The Math Diagnostic Test is scheduled for Wednesday September 16 and the Language for Thursday September 17th.
